Today was Star Trek's 45th anniversary. On this day, Sept. 8, 1966, Star Trek premiered on the NBC television network with the episode "The Man Trap", later adapted by James Blish for Bantam Books under the title "The Unreal McCoy". Happy Birthday, Star Trek!
